The season is barely a few weeks old and the Mackie Minis had their first fixture of the season away to Alloa RFC. Alloa is a new location for the mini’s to travel to this season and expectations and hopes of a good day were high as the coach sped south down the A90.
The clubs split all the kids up into mixed age-group squads were they had some great mixed up sessions reinforcing the early lessons that have been being learn’t in training so far this season. After the hard work came the fun and the kids had some mixed-up games against each other so they could show off their rapidly developing skills to the watching mums & dads who also seemed to be enjoying both the rugby and hospitality of the Alloa club and its facilities. All that running about in the sun was rewarded with generous helpings of Stovies, Macaroni and Lorne sausage rolls courtesy of Alloa RFC.
The P4 squad at Mackie Minis still has spaces this season and any P4 boys or girls who fancy giving mini rugby a go please feel free to come along on Saturdays 9:30-11am or Wednesdays 6:30-7:30pm to the Mackie playing fields and ask for Andy or Paul the P4 coaches, the more the merrier and no commitment or previous experience required.
P4 Squad shown: Megan, Alex, Tom, Adam C, Norrie, William, Douglas, Daniel, Archie, Adam G and Gabriel
