A crisis of stage lights blacking out on Edzell Drama Group actors sparked a nail-biting off-stage drama to raise money for a new system in time for their next show.

The Group suddenly found themselves under pressure to raise the funds needed to replace the lights. Much of the fundraising total has been met, but they are relying on a full house for their upcoming shows to meet the remainder of the cost.

The good news is the show will go on at Edzell’s Inglis Hall at 7.30pm on Friday November 25 and Saturday November 26, promising two plays: a comedy whodunit as well as an hilarious version of Dad’s Army.

“We had an off-stage drama to find £1500 towards the new system, which is thankfully now set up and ready to shine on our next show.” said Anne Newsome, Drama Group chairman.

“So far we’ve raised £1250 but we really need full house ticket sales to hit our fund raising target. Says Anne. “So our plea to Edzell and the Mearns area residents is please get your tickets – on sale in advance at Edzell’s SPAR, Post Office or Tweedie - and on the door.”
