A Mearns mansion has expanded its workforce with the addition of two key personnel.
Fasque House, based in Fettercairn, has had a rapid increase in business since owners Douglas and Heather Dick-Reid took over the derelict property and surrounding 370 acre estate in July 2010 and transformed it in an exclusive use wedding and conference venue.
They have now added a further two members to the office team taking it to a total of 70.
Val Ferguson joins Fasque as PA to the managing director following 20 years in the motor industry, while Charlotte Whyte joins Fasque as assistant operations manager, following previous roles within the wedding and hospitality sector.
More than £4million has been spent on restoring Fasque House and the surrounding estate and it now operates as an exclusive use wedding hire venue with 28 weddings having taken place in 2013 alone.
Miss Ferguson said: “After more than 20 years in the motor trade I felt it was time for a change.
“Fasque House seemed like the complete opposite end of the spectrum from the car industry. I was looking for a new challenge, and, after my initial visit and an extremely informative discussion with the owner Doug I knew that I wanted to join the Fasque family.”
Charlotte, 24, who graduated from Robert Gordon’s University in hospitality management in 2012, said: “Fasque House Estate has always been in the back of my mind as a dream job which has turned into a reality and I cannot wait to see what the future holds.
“Fasque House is so up and coming and fresh with an outstanding reputation which has been built up by the dedicated Fasque team here and I feel so lucky to carry that on and to be a part of it.”
Managing director Douglas Dick-Reid added: “We’re delighted to welcome the new members to the team at a time when we are entering the busiest period of the year. The team is extremely hard working and the addition of Val and Charlotte will further compliment the service we provide at Fasque.”
Fasque House Properties was given initial planning permission for an enabling development on the Fasque Estate in December 2012.
