The last Monday of February saw two of Stonehavens’s oldest clubs meeting to share their work.
Stonehaven Art Club and Mearns Camera Club held a joint meeting in Stonehaven Community Centre to discuss various paintings, drawings and printed photographic images that members had produced.
Nine MCC members and eight Art Club members were brave enough to put their images on display. What emerged was a very interesting and lively discussion about the various mediums used by members. What became apparent was that there were many similarities between the images when it came to composition, using colour and black and white, and manipulation of subject matter etc.
The difference in the two mediums were also evident and allowed the audience to appreciate the difficulties the respective artists/photographers had to overcome. The evening ended with tea and coffee and nibbles to allow the members to socialise, which they happily did.
