Local MSP Dennis Robertson met with volunteers at Monymusk Thrift Shop and Tearoom on Friday June 26.

The Post Office hosts a Tearoom on Thursday and Friday mornings from 9.30 – 12.15. It was set up by local volunteers to provide a place for locals to meet and to have a chat and a tea or coffee and the money raised goes towards Monymusk Village Hall Improvement Fund.

Commenting Dennis Robertson said: “Apart from enjoying a lovely cheese scone and a cup of tea, it was fantastic to meet with the volunteers and those attending the Tearoom. I had a long chat with Janie and it was great to learn about the history of the Post Office and how the Tearoom came to be.

It is hugely important that we support our local businesses and the Post Office, Shop and Thrift Shop in Monymusk is a fantastic example of the community showing their support. The fact that the money raised goes back in to the Monymusk community is wonderful.”

Good quality contributions for the Thrift Shop including toys, clothing, smaller items of furniture and interesting bric-a-brac etc are always welcome. Contact Lorna Pole on 01467 651476 or simply drop off at the shop on Thursdays or Fridays.
