Over 60 people dealt with after Operation Sandside targets violence

Over 60 people have been dealt with following a week of action targeting violence throughout Aberdeenshire and Moray. Operation Sandside ran from Monday to Sunday, February 2 to 8.

It was led by the Alcohol and Violence Reduction Unit.

During the week, violence related crimes were investigated and concluded and in the region of 100 visits were made to licensed premises in towns and villages throughout the area including Stonehaven.

As a result of the operation 48 people were reported for assaults, with 15 of those appearing in court from custody.

In addition, 11 people were arrested on warrant.
