Forget travelling to Kinross, Inverness or Reading, Stonehaven will be holding its very own mini music festival later this month.
Party in the Park will be a whole day of music and family fun at Mineralwell Park on Sunday 29 July.
The event, organised by Ma Simpsons and local charity Befriend A Child, will start at 12pm until 8pm.
Befriend A Child is a charity operating in Aberdeen city and shire that recruits caring adults to befriend and support individual vulnerable children on a 1:1 basis and help to promote the children’s welfare and advance their education.
Befrienders introduce the children to new activities and interests which were previously unavailable to them. The relationship is a valuable aid to the child’s social and educational development which in turn can help them mature into a responsible adult.
At the charity fundraiser there will be musical entertainment from FUBAR, The Lorelei, The Ruckus, The Chandeliers, Hoodo Zephyr, Amy Sawers, Rumbling Bridge, Samantha Holden, Amberlamps, Ruin, Louis Craighead, Cleanse the hive and many more.
Organisers say “it’s going to be a great day of music, plenty for the little and big kids alike with bouncy castles, family races and games. There wll also be craft and charity stalls to browse”.
Tickets cost £5 each, and family tickets (for up to 2 adults and 3 concessions) cost £18.
They are available from Ma Simpson’s on Evan Street or online at www.stonehaventownhall.org and clicking on events.
