Parents in the Stonehaven area looking for ideas for children’s summer holiday activities are in for a treat.
Forestry Commission Scotland’s rangers are running a treasure hunt in Dunnottar Woods today, Thursday. Drop in any time between 11am and 2pm.
Follow the trail to search for the pirates gold.
Julia White, Ranger, said: “School holidays can be quite long for a lot of parents and for children too sometimes - it’s tricky finding enough different activities to keep youngsters occupied.”
This event is aimed at 3-12 year olds with accompanying adults. There are two routes – an easier one for younger children and a trickier one for older ones. Bring a picnic to have before or after you go out on your adventure.
Julia added: “There’s always something to do at a forest near you during the school holidays. Whether it is one of our organised activities or just letting the kids have the freedom to run wild and explore.”
