Portlethen man shortlisted for financial award

Portlethen resident, Paul Gibson, a Chartered Financial Planner and Fellow of the Personal Finance Society, has been confirmed as a finalist in two categories of the Money Management Financial Planner of the Year awards 2012.

The FT personal finance magazine, Money Management, has been running the prestigious awards, dubbed “the Oscars of the personal finance industry”, by the BBC Panorama programme, since 1996.

The awards are based on the submission of a detailed serious of cases studies followed by interview by a judging panel.

To win one of the awards, advisers have to submit written answers to the problems raised in the case studies and make specific recommendations of how they would solve the problems. The answers can be up to 2,500 words, so involve a major commitment on the part of the entrants.

One of the categories Paul has been short-listed for is ‘Retirement Planner of the Year’ reflecting Paul’s expertise in the area of pensions and retirement planning advice.

Paul along with other prospective winners have been invited to the awards ceremony to be held at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Hyde Park in London on Tuesday November 6, where the winner will be announced.
