Tickets for the Open Air in the Square Hogmanay event featuring Simple Minds have sold out days after going on general sale.
Fans of all ages had queued up outside Celtic Chords traditional music shop to grab the tickets.
Some revellers had been waiting in line before 7am to guarantee their tickets, with queues stretching as far round as Cameron Street early Friday morning.
The Mearns Leader caught up with resident Ian Sim who was among those first in the queue to buy their tickets.
He said: “ I can’t wait, I have been queuing for a few hours so it is great to get the ticket.
“If they are anything like the Red Hot Chili Pipers last year then it will be a fantastic night.”
Revellers are expected to swamp Stonehaven on Hogmanay from all parts of the globe and will see the famous fireballs event run in tandem with the Simple Minds Open Air in the Square event.
Lindsay Verstralen spoke for the Stonehaven Open Air in the Square committee at the launch last Wednesday.
She admitted: “We’re all slightly pinching ourselves to make sure that we’re not dreaming.”
