A £105,000 investment by Transport Scotland, which will see a 1.0km section of the A90 resurfaced at Stonehaven, will begin tonight.
This will involve the resurfacing of the nearside lane of the northbound carriageway.
Works will commence today (Monday August 27) and are programmed to last 3 nights, from 19:30hrs and finishing by 06:30hrs each morning.
For the safety of workers and motorists, the works will be carried out using lane closures and a convoy system of traffic management with a 10mph speed limit. The southbound carriageway will not be affected.
Commenting on the works, Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s North East Unit Representative said: “This section of road is worn out and needs to be resurfaced. The works are being carried out overnight to minimise delays to motorists. We would however, encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance and allow some extra time.”
Real-time journey planning information can be obtained by visiting www.trafficscotland.org.
Materials removed from the existing carriageway will be recycled using SEPA approved methods.
The works are being carried out by Breedon Aggregates on behalf of BEAR Scotland. Works have been planned in consultation with Perth & Kinross Council and Tayside Police.
