THE Stonehaven Business association had a wonderful evening celebrating its 40th anniversary last week.
The asssociations longstanding chairman, George McGilvary, stood down after 5 years in the role he was presented with a set of crystal glasses. The new chairman is Frank Budd.
Michelle Ward from the Royal Hotel is the new vice chair, Niall Menzies from Castle Trophies and Charlie Sands from Corporate Solutions remain secretary and treasurer. Raymond Douglas (Deeside Interiors) stood down from the committee.
Donald Mitchell and Charlie McHardy took attendees down memory lane as the talked them through Stonehaven 40 years ago. Aberdeenshire Area Manager Willie Munro spoke of a bright future for the town if careful planing was put in place and Jackie Allen spoke about many initiatives Inverurie business had undertaken to bring people into their town. The first meeting is an open invitation to all business in Stonehaven to come along and put their opinion forward on what they would like to see happen in the town. It will take place on Tuesday April 2, 7pm at the Royal Hotel.
