Stage is set for busy Laurencekirk Gala Week

The Laurencekirk Gala Committee met in the Burgh Buildings on Monday, one of their final meetings as they finalise plans for this years event.

entries are currently being taken for the Gardening Competition which is open to all gardens in the Laurencekirk Parish and will be judged during Gala week. Entry forms are available from Puppetden, High Street, Laurencekirk and it is free to enter. The winner will be announced on the main Gala day, Saturday July 16.

Tickets are also available for the Fashion Show in the Gala Marquee on Wednesday July 13. Doors will open at 6:45 and the show begins at 7:00pm and will include as well as the fashion show, various stalls, beauty demonstrations and even a charity male waxing.

Clothes are being supplied by Elizabeth Havens, New Look and M&Co with proceeds being split between the Marfans Trust and CLIC Sargent charities. Tickets are available now from Elizabeth Havens, High Street, Laurencekirk.

The final programme of Gala events will be delivered to houses and shops in Laurencekirk shortly but the programme includes the ever popular kids club, bingo, tea dance, pet show, car treasure hunt, pub quiz, Tower and Johnston races, Gala Dance, Church Service and Seven Ends Bowling.

A huge amount of work has gone into this year’s gala and the committee hope the residents of Laurencekirk and the surrounding area will once again turn out in big numbers to support the week’s events.
