Welcome to June’s Town Hall Talk. We are getting very excited at the Town Hall Trust as the Trust has applied for funding to the Peoples Millions Lottery and have been shortlisted. We are now in the last six for the STV North Region.
What happens now? Our application goes head to head with a community group from Kyleakin on the West Coast. There will be a short film from ourselves and the other project shown on the STV News at 6pm on Mon 27th June. This is when the public get the opportunity to register their vote by phone in support of the funding application which they prefer.
If we receive the most votes on the day we will then be through to the final three when we will be guaranteed some level of funding.
The title of our project is Giving our Community a Voice and we have asked for funding to enable us to install a sound system and equipment in the Town Hall.
This will enable us to host bigger and better events in the future and allow all the community groups who use the Town Hall access to a better equipped venue. We need your support and hope you will find the time to watch the film and register your vote. You will find more details on our website, which is www.stonehaventownhall.org
Time is running out to get your tickets for the fundraising event on Friday 17th June, staring Jason Porter and cabaret with his tribute to Michael Bublé. Tickets are available from Ma Simpson’s and the Barclay Clinic in Stonehaven.
At the Trust’s AGM last week, four new trustees were elected and we would like to welcome: Caroline Andrew, Lesley MacDonald, Mary Sutcliffe and Ken Venters. We all look forward to a successful and productive year.
