Local drama group, Stonehaven Ury Players are on a mission to recruit any aspiring actors that are interested in taking part in their summer production, ‘Allo ‘Allo.
The play, based on the popular TV series, features many characters that the audience will know and love, but due to the demographics of the group outside help is required to cast Rene and his cohorts. Freda Adams, Chairperson, said “Ury Players membership has swelled in recent years, but as seems to be the case with many amateur dramatics groups, the majority of members are female. There is also a large gap in the number of 20-50 year old members. ‘Allo ‘Allo is a very funny play which we think the local community will really enjoy. We are trying to get as many members involved in the production as possible, and those not in the play will be providing period entertainment during the evening. We hope there are some adults, especially men, who fancy giving the play a go.” ‘Allo ‘Allo will be launched on Thursday March 1 at the South Church Hall at 7:30pm. There is also a voice workshop with a professional actress on Sunday March 4 for those taking part in the production. The play will be performed in the Town Hall on June 14 and 15.
