Auchenblae Pre-School Group is toasting the success of their Village Pub Returns fundraiser in Auchenblae village on Saturday August 18.
The team of volunteers raised a fantastic £995 for the Pre-School Group coffers and gave locals a night to remember.
A team of volunteers dressed the hall up as a village pub complete with bar, sofas and pool table to raise vital funds for the Pre-School Group and to start the new pre-school term off with a bang. The ‘pub’ opened at 7.30pm and the ‘bar staff’ poured drinks until midnight.
Auchenblae Pre-School Group came up with the idea of running a pub night in the village hall to help raise money and give locals a good night out.
Auchenblae lost their newly refurbished pub in January 2009 following a devastating gas explosion and villagers have sorely missed the social life surrounding the village pub. Villagers heartily supported the fundraising night, turning out in droves for a drink and a ‘craic’.
Group Chairman, Lorna Eastaugh said: “We had a great time ‘re-opening’ the village pub and are absolutely thrilled with the turnout and the amount of money we’ve raised. Everyone had such a fun night all thanks to our lovely customers and volunteers.
“We enjoyed it so much that we’re already planning the next one. Many thanks to everyone involved and we’ll look forward to doing it all over again soon. Watch this space.”
