Bervie finish fifth in league
BERVIE Caley will look back on their season with a tinge of disappointment, as their third place in Division One East in 2006-07 was followed by a joint fifth place finish this time round.
Bervie racked up six league wins at home, with the only real blemish on their card a 1-0 defeat against relegated Rattray's X1. There were creditable draws against Bon-Accord, Kintore and Mill Inn, who would all finish above them.
Away from home, Bervie won four times and points were dropped in draws with relegated Glendale and University Strollers.

Bervie's best cup run came in the North of Scotland. Huntly were beaten 4-3 aet and ARI Thistle 5-2, then Kincorth, who were to go on to be Division One North champions, were beaten 2-0 away.
Another Division One North team, Woodside, ended Bervie's run in round four.
There was cruel luck for Bervie in the AFC Trophy. Blackburn from Division One North were beaten 5-2 aet, then Bon-Accord City were beaten 2-1.
Bervie were found to have fielded trialists against the rules of the competition and were thrown out. Bon-Accord went all the way to the final where they lost to Echt.
Luthermuir were beaten 2-1 in the Association Cup first round, then Blackburn took revenge with a 3-2 win in round two.
In the Scottish Cup, Rothie Rovers were beaten 4-1, then a powerful Viewfield Rovers beat Bervie 7-1 in round two.
The White Cup saw a first round defeat away to Lads' Club.
Twenty nine goals were scored in the cups, giving Bervie a total of 76 for the season.
Davie Muir was far and away Bervie's top scorer with 31 goals. Nearest to him were Michael Tulloch with eight, Lee Hood with seven and Les Ingram, Paul Robertson and Liam Anderson with five.
Other totals were Mark Beedie with four, Michael Hamilton with three, Raymond Fotheringham with two and Mark Strachan, Simon Donaldson, Kevin Smith, Calum Gowans, Ken Hay and Malcolm Dorward all with one.
Davie Muir scored four goals no fewer than three times, against Frigate and Lads' Club in the league and against Huntly in the North of Scotland Cup. Lee Hood scored a hat-trick against ARI Thistle, also in the North of Scotland.
