MEARNS United, promoted from Division Three in their debut season, stand a very good chance of stepping up again by getting promotion out of Division Two East.
When the bad weather intervened, Mearns sat second in the division with 24 points from 11 games and with three games in hand on leaders Ellon Amateurs.
Ironically, the only Mearns league defeat was at the hands of Ellon and it didn't come on the field of play. An adminisrative mix-up led to them failing to fulfill a fixture back in August.
Mearns have had big wins at home, 10-1 against Muggiemoss, 7-2 against Potterton and 7-3 against Fintray.
They have also been on the goal trail away, beating Mintlaw 6-1 and BSFC 5-1.
There have been draws at home to Ferryhill and Don Athletic and away to Continental.
In the Scottish Cup, Mearns beat Premier Division side US Glendale 4-3 and Trophies International 5-1 before losing 7-1 to Drumchapel.
They are still in the League Cup having beaten Continental 5-4.
In the North of Scotland Cup, US Glendale took revenge winning 4-1 at Fettercairn and West End beat Mearns heavily in the AFC Trophy.
