Frigate 1 Johnshaven 3

JOHNSHAVEN continued their good form with an away victory over Frigate on May 17, in their penultimate game of the season.

Johnshaven dominated from the outset. Twice Leon Dundas used his pace to break free and twice the keeper saved.

Bickerstaff found himself free on the left, but his lob over the keeper just cleared the bar.

Johnshaven took a deserved lead in 1
2 minutes. Gary Bickerstaff controlled the ball on his chest and smashed a volley across goal and inside the far post.

McDonald broke on the right and crossed to Philip and he shot over an empty net.

Half-time came with Johnshaven hoping they would not regret the chances they had missed.

Frigate equalised early in the second half following indecision in the Johnshaven defence.

The game got a bit physical, with McDonald and Philip on the receiving end of some strong challenges.

Johnshaven regained the lead when Leon Dundas volleyed home a cross from the left.

The visitors continued to press and wrapped up the points when the ball broke to Bickerstaff and he lobbed over the keeper.

Johnshaven: Henderson, Scott, D. Dundas, Lownie, Buist, Philip, Leven (Walker), McDonald, L. Dundas (Strachan), Bickerstaff, R. Blease. Sub: Gunnis.
