Johnshaven began the New Year with a fine home win over Newmachar in the league.
In the opening minute a first time shot from Shaun Blease went just past the post.
In the 12th minute a header by Newmachar hit the Johnshaven crossbar and the rebound was cleared.
Johnshaven scored in 15 minutes. Beedie picked out Bruce Carnegie who hit an unstoppable shot past the helpless Newmachar keeper for his first goal this season.
In the 26th minute Carnegie unleashed a powerful shot which the Newmachar keeper parried and Steven Smith slid in to score.
In the 34th minute a powerful shot by Carnegie was parried by the Newmachar keeper.
from a long kick out by the Johnshaven keeper, the ball bounced over the Newmachar defence and Smith ran on and hit an angled shot, which beat the keeper, but the ball went just agonisingly past the post.
In the 41st minute a Newmachar shot rattled off the Johnshaven post and the rebound was fired into the back of the net but the referee deemed the player was offside.
A free kick by MacLaren was pushed over the bar by the Newmachar keeper. The resulting corner by Smith was headed off the line then cleared.
In the 48th minute a Carnegie shot was turned round the post. The home pressure continued and finally Jack Dalgarno ran in and drilled a shot into the bottom corner of the net to make it 3-0.
A Newmachar free kick rebounded off the Johnshaven defensive wall and a follow-up shot went past the post.
A Newmachar shot was pushed over the bar by Johnshaven keeper Stephen and the resulting corner was cleared.
On the hour Shaun Blease pushed the ball out to Steven Smith who beat his man then cut in and hit a powerful shot past the diving Newmachar keeper for his second goal of the game.
In the 65th minute Johnshaven made their first substitution when Stuart Beedie replaced Bruce Carnegie.
In the 70th minute a shot by MacLaren from just outside the box was deflected and then struck the Newmachar keeper before it was cleared.
In the 78th minute Johnshaven made their second substitution when Stephen Stephen replaced Shaun Blease.
A minute later Newmachar went up the left and played the ball to the back post where a simple tap in got them a consolation goal to make the final score 4-1.
Just on full time Stuart Beedie played the ball to Stephen who chipped the keeper but saw his effort hit the bar.
