Cold keeps golfers indoors

On a typical January weekend of cold blustery showers particularly on Saturday many of the pairings and singles players who are approaching the traditional qualifying criteria of 10 rounds chose to stay in the clubhouse in the warmth.

Playing on winter greens and the gulley holes ruled out of action of those who decided to play the round of the day in the doubles section goes to Brian Lawson and Stewart Allsop with an impressive 2 under par 64 gross equating to a 58 nett good scoring in the difficult conditions, their nearest challengers were the pairings of Dempster and McGillivary and Riddell and MacAllan whose par scores are also worth noting.

In the singles it was George Innes playing on Sunday who defeated the weather and his closest rivals Ivan Groundwater & Gavin Rae by two points scoring 40 stableford points one behind those two was Jim Lonie with 37 Points.
