Fettercairn beaten by the odd goal in five

Fettercairn lost in a first game of season battle with Golf Inn.

Fettercairn started strong and it was after only 15 minutes they took the lead. Matthew Crabb chased down the defender, won the ball then calmly slotted past the keeper.

Both teams had chances but it was Golf Inn who were next to score, a great through ball allowed the striker to equalise.

Stuart Irvine came close to putting Fettercairn back in front after his shot struck the post.

Fettercairn then conceded a penalty, but stand in keeper Ryan Crabb was able to save to make sure both teams went in at half time on equal terms.

With 35 minutes remaining Fettery were back in front. Kenneth Hay found Craig Corbett who took on 2 defenders before finishing.

Both Matthew Crabb and Ross Sinclair came off injured as Golf Inn got the upper hand on the game and with 10 minutes remaining they equalised for the second time.

A defensive mix up for Fettercairn cost them the point as a cross come shot looped over Ryan Crabbs head to put Golf Inn 3-2 up. Matthew Howie was sent off for Fettercairn before the final whistle.
