Stonehaven made the trip to Clark Commercials Park to take on bottom of the table FC Stoneywood on Saturday in what was their first McBookie.com Superleague match of 2016.
The visitors forced the early pressure and were awarded a corner after just 30 seconds but the ball in was cleared.
On 8 minutes the hosts were almost in front when a chested back pass from Armstrong was cut out but the FC Stoneywood forward was unable to capitalise and shot into the side netting.
Wyness came agonisingly close to opening the scoring two minutes later when a long throw-in fell to him on the edge of the area but his shot came back off the crossbar.
Two minutes later the home side came close when a corner was met with a free header but luckily it went wide of target.
Stark in the Hive goal had to be alert on 15 minutes when Robison struck from the edge of the penalty area but was denied by a fingertip save.
The opening goal wasn’t far away and on 17 minutes Anderson did well to win the ball on the edge of the penalty area and found Wyness who laid to debutant Adam McWilliam who was fouled. RICHARD WYNESS stepped up and sent ‘keeper Goodbrand the wrong way for his 19th of the season.
Shand had a chance five minutes later when a corner was whipped in but he headed wide at the back post.
McTavish came even closer to doubling The Hive’s lead on 27 minutes but his header came back off the crossbar and was cleared just yards from the goal line.
McKechnie did well on the half hour mark to keep the ball in on the byline but his ball in was eventually cleared by the visitors.
A minute later and the Hive nerves were settled as they doubled their lead. The ball fell to JORDAN REID who turned brilliantly and beat his man before firing past Goodbrand.
The hosts had the last chance of the half when the ball was played in far too easily but luckily it was headed wide at the far post.

The visitors found themselves pinned back in the early exchanges as Stoneywood pressed to get an early goal but there was no cutting edge and The Hive weathered the storm.
Good short play resulted in McWilliam trying his luck on 51 minutes but his shot was blocked for a corner.
The resulting corner fell to Wyness but Goodbrand was equal to his shot.
Cormack came close a minute later when he cut inside but sent his curling effort just wide of target.
The home side were having the better of the second and were growing stronger as the half wore on.
On 68 minutes the ball was switched to the Hive right and the runner from midfield wasn’t picked up and Stark did well to tip the shot wide.
Good play from The Hive on 72 minutes saw the ball played down the left to Armstrong who cut back to Wyness but he could only send his shot over on the stretch.
The same combination almost contributed to a third for The Hive on 75 minutes. The ball was played in to Wyness who laid back to Armstrong who in turn played a lofted cross to the back post where Jordan Reid saw his shot crash back off the near post.
Armstrong came close on 78 minutes when he cut inside but his shot was held.
With just over five minutes left the ball was played through to Wyness but he sent his shot wide of target.
Stark was called into action again right at the death when he made a fantastic save just yards from goal to tip the ball over the crossbar to deny the hosts a late consolation.
