Johnshaven lose final home game

Johnshaven 1 Glendale Youth 3 JOHNSHAVEN only had 12 players available for selection when they played their final home game of the season on Saturday, so secretary Colin Hancox joined the subs bench after finishing work.

In the 16th minute an overhead kick by Cruickshank was caught by the Glendale Youth keeper with Carnegie chasing in.

Three minutes later, Milne put the ball through to Carnegie and the keeper dived to save.

A shot by Carnegie was blocked by the Youth defence, then a header from Leven on the edge of the box was headed goalwards by Dalgarno but the keeper saved.

Glendale Youth broke upfield and an angled shot was saved by Gourlay.

In the 27th minute Ross Blease had a header from a corner saved.

Johnshaven scored in 31 minutes. Ross Blease put in Beedie who ran in on goal past two Glendale Youth players before hitting a left foot shot in at the near post.

In the 37th minute a hard low cross took a deflection off a Johnshaven player and bounced over the diving keeper for an equaliser.

In the 50th minute, Leven laid the ball back to Carnegie and his 35 yard shot went wide.

A minute later a Glendale Youth shot hit the underside of the Johnshaven bar and was scrambled clear.

A goal was only delayed. A corner was headed back into the box and a shot on the turn found the net.

Five minutes later Milne was one on one with the keeper but was forced wide and the keeper blocked.

A 25 yard shot saw Gourlay dive to push the ball round the post. From the resulting corner Gourlay saved a header from six yards.

In the 68th minute Johnshaven were forced to make their only substitution of the game when Thomson replaced an injured Reid.

Gourlay saved a 25 yard shot then a 20 yard shot from Cruickshank went past the post.

Two minutes from time a Leven cross was cleared off Thomson's head.

In stoppage-time Johnshaven gave away a penalty and Glendale Youth scored to clinch the points.
