Last gasp goal

Stonehaven welcomed First Division side Sunnybank to Glenury in the Domino’s Pizza North Regional Cup Second Round on Saturday.
Hive who started brightest and went about fashioning a few early chances.
On 3 minutes Stewart put in a great cross which was headed wide by Horne. Stewart was the provider again soon after he ran down the left but his cross was cleared by the visiting defence.

With 10 minutes gone Horne was played through by Murray and he took a touch but dragged his shot wide of goal.
The Hive were having the lion’s share of the play but were just not able to find the cutting edge.
Just after the halfway mark in the first half good first touch passing found Murray whose shot went just wide of the far post.

On the half hour mark former Hive striker Cormack saw his shot crash off the post after ball reached him all too easily and the Hive defence just about cleared the danger.

A couple of minutes later Smith came to Stonehaven’s rescue when a free-kick into the box wasn’t dealt with and he rushed out to block for a corner.
A minute later a Murray ball in was well dealt with by McHattie and play switched to the other end and the Hive defence cleared for a corner.

With just five minutes left of the half, Stewart saw his cross flash across the box and miss everyone when it only needed a touch to open the scoring.

A minute later Forsyth ran through on goal but pulled his shot just wide.

In the last action of the first half Watt played a ball in and found Horne but he headed well wide.

Stonehaven started the second half as they finished the first and Forsyth had the first chance just a minute in but he somehow managed to miss from almost on the line.
Two minutes later a ball in found the head of Forsyth but he could only send his header over the bar.
Jack McIntosh was next to threaten on 50 minutes but he headed over when it looked like it was easier to score.

Horne tried his luck a minute later but his left foot shot was pushed away by the keeper.

Five minutes later Muirhead pulled his shot wide of the target.
On the hour mark the visitors took the lead when the ball was played out to the left and a shot from Murison deflected up off Jack McIntosh and over Smith.

With 20 minutes to go Alexander rolled the ball to Horne who shot wide.

Three minutes later a ball down the left from Watt to Forsyth saw the latter have his shot saved by the onrushing keeper.

Just minutes later it was 1-1. Horne picked the ball up in the box and beat his man before finding the bottom corner.

Hutchison of Sunnybank saw a straight red for kicking out at Horne as he ran back to the halfway line with the ball.

With just a minute left Stonehaven scored a late winner. Forsyth crossed from the right. the Sunnybank ‘keeper couldn’t hold onto the ball and Low poked home.
