After an even start to the game on March 17 slack defending by Luthermuir at a set piece allowed a Rothie defender to run unchallenged to meet the corner and head in across Howe.

Luther came more into the game and were awarded a penalty when Duff was scythed down in the area when trying to latch on to a cross ball. Slesser calmly slotted the spot kick into the bottom corner.

Duff latched on to a deep corner but his header was cleared by the defender on the line and Greig was unable to scramble home the loose ball. The Muir pressure paid off when they broke down the right. Kieran Darar found space inside the box and cut back to Ellis who took a touch and fired across the keeper into the corner.

From the restart Luthermuir were caught napping down the right and the resultant cross ball found a Rothie player at the back post who fell over the outstretched leg of Cruikshank with the ref awarding a dubious penalty. The Rothie taker managed to hit the net despite a good hand from Howe. In the last minute of the match Luther were awarded a corner which was swung in by Ellis onto the running Kieran Darar whose bullet header hit net.
