Links Archers on target for success at competition

editorial image

Local archers from Links Archers in Montrose and its two satellite school junior clubs enjoyed a great day’s competition at Peterhead on Sunday in the Northern Area championships.

In the men’s recurve division, James Laing and Alan Wood took first and second place with Mark Smith best novice.

Fiona Hirst took third place in the ladies recurve division at her first championships since taking up the sport four months ago.

The juniors (Frankie Keenan and Darcy Davidson from Links junior archers, Hannah Worthington and Rebecca Leigh from Mearns Academy juniors, Curtis Hirst from Lathallan school juniors) all won their respective age groups.

Six of the group – including Richard Smith – also shot personal best scores.
