Luthermuir travelled to play Banchory on a wet and windy day and were looking forward to the game as the previous Saturday their home game was cancelled due to the weather.
Straight from the kick off Luthermuir took the game to Banchory with some lovely passing between the defence and midfield to look for an opportunity to get in behind the opposition defence.
After only just 5 minutes a throw in by Greig down the right hand side to Ellis who controlled well and then slipped his marker to run to the by-line and cross for Anderson which saw his shot just go wide.
On 8 minutes Banchory created a chance with a good ball down the wing which was then cut inside for a midfielder to take a shot from 20 yards, which just sailed over the crossbar.
Wands then took the resulting goal kick which was headed on by Craig for Slesser who then turned his defender and slotted the ball through for Anderson to run onto 18 yards out a drive a shot that was saved by the keeper.
Luthermuir were starting to pin Banchory back and on 11 minutes the pressure paid off.
A free kick awarded just inside the Banchory half was taken by R Darar who fired the ball into the danger area where Craig made a good run into the box and rose unchallenged to loop a header over the keeper for 0-1.
On 16 minutes a ball down the right wing by Craig was taken on the run by Slesser who crossed deep to the back post where Anderson rose well only to see his header go straight to the keeper.
As the ball was cleared by the keeper it was won in the air by Ellis who then ran onto his cushioned header to pass to Anderson 25 yards from goal who then played it out to the wing for Morrison who cut inside and headed direct to goal, as he drew the keeper he then played it into the on rushing Anderson in the middle who slotted it home from 8 yards in between a couple of defenders.
Luthermuir were in control of the game now and continued to pass the ball well across the park with Banchory giving Wands very little to do.
On 32 minutes a dubious free kick was awarded to Banchory, it was fizzed in but was cleared by Duff under some pressure.
On 35 minutes another free kick was awarded for a challenge on Anderson down the left hand side, R Darar fired the ball into the box where Ellis rose well but his header just went wide.
Luthermuir were pressing for another goal and on 40 minutes a good ball put through the middle 30 yards out by Craig for Ellis was controlled well and he then slipped it in between the last defenders for Anderson who just blazed his shot over the bar.
Banchory got themselves back in the game on 44 minutes when a ball fired over the Luthermuir defence was missed by Miller and as the striker ran in behind him Wands was caught in no man’s land as it was lobbed over him for 1-2.
Luthermuir then straight from the kick off played the ball back to Miller who crossed a ball to the other side where Morrison took it in mid air and headed straight for goal and whipped in a great ball that had a defender and Anderson stretching to get. The defender in his clearance toe poked it into his own net for
Luthermuir who, started the second half brighter after being a little deflated conceding just on half time.
On 51 minutes a throw in by Ellis to Greig was quickly taken down and as he turned inside he created space for a shot from 25 yards out that was saved well by the keeper. On 55 minutes a free kick was awarded for a foul on the live wire Greig and Slesser stepped up and his shot just went over the bar.
On 65 minutes a ball from Craig to Slesser who slipped his marker and headed down the wing, as he got to the 18 yard line he cut the ball back for Anderson who then slipped the ball along the line and was met by Ellis who shot low into the corner but the keeper tipped it away.
From the resulting corner Slesser fired a ball into the box where Ellis rose well and headed unchallenged into the net for 1-4. Banchory then had a spell of position but did not create any chances that troubled Luthermuir.
As time was ticking by Luthermuir made some changes to freshen up areas and on 80 minutes Morrison takes a throw in and finds Milne who heads down the wing but his cross just goes wide.
On 85 minutes Milne picks up the ball out wide and slots a ball in between the defence for Slesser who heads direct for goal but sees his shot go just over the bar. Luthermuir then controlled the remainder of time for a well deserved win.
Man of the Match was Ross Morrison.
