Luthermuir end with draw

Luthermuir 2 MS United 2 LUTHERMUIR played their final game of the 2009 – 2010 season last Wednesday evening at home to MS United.

Luthermuir started the game well and only the final pass on three occasions stopped Walker, Anderson and Greig all from being through one on one with the visiting goalkeeper.

With their first real effort on goal, MS United took the lead in 25 minutes when a 20 yard free-kick was curled into the top corner of Howe's net.

Luthermuir rallied and equalised ten minutes later when Darar sent a throw in to Gordon Lindsay whose cross was headed home on the back post by Chris Walker.

With seconds of the half remaining, Stuart Lindsay's free-kick was volleyed goalwards by Murdoch Anderson but the keeper made a smart save low to his right.

The second half was end to end. Howe made a couple of good saves as did the MS goalkeeper.

Luthermuir lost a second goal in 65 minutes when the MS right back's effort ended up in the net.

Luthermuir equalised with ten minutes to play when Euan Duff broke down the right and his 20 yard effort screamed past the goalkeeper into the net.

Both teams searched for a winner but had to settle for a share of the spoils.

Luthermuir had their end of season BBQ and presentation in the Crown Inn on Saturday evening.
