Luthermuir finish eighth
LUTHERMUIR FC are reflecting on a satisfactory season in Division One North of the Aberdeenshire Amateur League. With a very young side, Luther finished eighth, comfortably clear of the drop zone and with a couple of breaks at the right time, would have finished even higher.
Top home result for Luthermuir was a 3-1 win over promoted Tarves and there were also wins over Ellon Thistle, Stonehaven Athletic, Uni Colts and Theologians.
Away from home, Luthermuir can be proudest of a 2-1 win over third-placed Hazlehead, while Torry United were thumped 5-0.

Their best showing in cup competition came in the Scottish Amateur Cup. They beat Glendale Youth after a replay, had a 3-2 away win against Fife side Dundonald, then finally lost to another Fife outfit, Leven.
In the North of Scotland Cup, a win over Don Athletic was followed by a 4-3 defeat to Rothie Rovers.
In the AFC Trophy, Premier side Kincorth beat them 2-0 and in the Association Cup, Division One East champions Woodside squeezed past Luthermuir in a penalty shoot-out.
In the Stephen Shield, eventually winners Tarves won 3-1 at Luthermuir in the last eight.
Luthermuir scored 16 cup goals giving them a total for the season of 65.
Murdoch Anderson was top scorer for a remarkable 16th successive season. Murdoch hit 17 goals, three ahead of Scott McCombie who was on 14.
Euan Duff scored 11 and other tallies were Greig five, Walker four, Ryan Arthur three, Slesser and Fotheringham with two and Hamish Stuart, Blair McCombie, Findlater, Neil Arthur, Robertson and Darar all with one. There was one own-goal.
There were two hat-tricks during the season, Anderson in the 5-0 win at Torry in the league and Scott McCombie in the Scottish Cup replay against Glendale Youth.
