There was a very mixed bag of weather conditions at Stonehaven Golf Club over the weekend. On Saturday, despite the strong winds, the sun shone for most of the day but on Sunday we awoke to a covering of snow making the course unplayable.
Comfortable joint winners in the singles section were Captain Mike Rendall and Donald Mitchell with an excellent 40 points. This gave them a five point win over Duncan Cursiter.
Mike and Donald have now moved into the top eight who qualify for the finals in two weeks time. The leading seven are now Ian Smith (373), Steve McGhie (365), Chris Taylor (364), Jim Lonie (363), John Findlay (362), Donald Mitchell (357) and Mike Rendall (356). Bill Chalmers, Terry Middleton and Duncan Cursiter are all fighting for the final spot with 355pts.
