Wrestling champion Scotty Swift scored a great victory as pro-wrestling returned to Newtonhill last weekend.

Saturday’s event at the Bettridge Centre featured a night of family-friendly action culminating in the successful Undisputed Championship defence for the “Red-Haired Warrior”. The North-east favourite scored a pinfall victory over rival Chris Archer to end a pulsating night of action. The champion continued: “Chris Archer took me to the limit but I just had enough to win the bout and continue on as champion. “The Newtonhill fans were great and really provided a great atmosphere for all the wrestlers. We thrive on that environment and I like to think they were rewarded with a great night of action.

“All eyes fall to the Regal Rumble in a few weeks time for my next defence of the Undisputed Championship.”

Elsewhere, there was a victory for top favourite Crusher Craib who downed Archer’s partner Mikkey Vago – while there was a clean sweep for Sterling Oil as Damien, Shawn Johnson and the Sterling brothers scored victories over rivals Blue Thunder, Cysto and Mr. P. Aspen Faith was also victorious, defeating Nathan Reynolds in a bruising encounter.
