20131030- Hannah Worthington. 'Hannah Worthington of Mearns Academy was crowned Scottish Archery's junior lady champion at the indoor championships held in Montrose on Sunday 27th. A total of 96 archers were competing for 20+ categories from senior novices to Under 10 juniors. Organiser Alan Wood from Links Archers said " This was an amazing turnout for our tenth year hosting the tournament, with not spare place to be had. Hannah wining junior lady champion was the icing on the cake."'Hannah was not alone in collecting silverware. Schoolmate Nicola Wylie won U18 barebow, Curtis Hirst from Lathallan school gent U14 recurve and Darcy Davidson from Links Archers took lady U12 trophy. Links Archers head coach Keith Blundell " This was a great success for our local clubs and makes the work put in by the Archers and coaches so worthwhile."'The coaches are not just sitting back though. They are in the process of creating a new senior club in Laurencekirk to support the academy junior club.'Lethen Archers from Portle

Hannah Worthington, of Mearns Academy, was crowned Scottish Archery’s junior lady champion at the indoor championships.

A total of 96 archers were competing for 20-plus categories at the Montrose event, from senior novices to Under 10 juniors.

Organiser Alan Wood, from Links Archers, said “ This was an amazing turnout for our 10th year hosting the tournament, with not a spare place to be had.

U16 - Emma McLachlan, Kingdom of Fife. Peter Hawker, Penicuik. Liam Wakefield, Milnes High school.

U14 - Robyn Geddes, Lethen. Curtis Hirst, Lathallan school? Rhiannon Walker, Lethen.

U12 - Darcy Davidson, Links. Aiden Laing, Lethen.
