Mackie Academy will be hosting an international fund-raising ceilidh tomorrow night (Friday November 29) for a double cause.
Shown in the photograph are individuals representing a group of talented badminton players who will be jetting off to Taipei in May 2014 to represent Scottish schools at the International School Sports Federation.
Also shown are some of the large group of students who will be heading to South Africa next Easter where they will be engaging with pupils in a local school supported by UNICEF and team Mackie will be competing in a football match as part of their Sub-Saharan African experience.
Ceilidh band Country Edition, who are certainly no strangers to the Mackie stage, will be performing and encouraging all to strip the willow and get into the mood.
The event takes place in Mackie Academy Assembly Hall tomorrow night at 8pm.
All are invited to “bring their own refreshments” and there will be raffles, whisky trails and ample opportunity to blow the cobwebs to live music before the festive season gets into gear. The Academy’s ceilidh band will also be performing a few pieces.
Tickets for £6 are available from Mr Iain Macdonald at Mackie Academy and Mrs Annette Leith.
