The girls represented Scotland in the level 3 - 10 years category meaning they were competing against the best 10-year-olds in the country. The competition is of an extremely high standard with over 40 competitors and 10 Teams. They were joined in the team by two other gymnasts – one form Largs and one from West Lothian.

The girls competed on five pieces of apparatus, vault, bars, beam, floor and range and conditioning. The standard was exceptionally high and the Scotland team produced excellent performances to finish seventh.

This competition is of a high standard. The girls put on a strong performances and all contributed to Team Scotland’s final score. Special mention must go to Daisy Willcocks who was the highest scorer in the Scottish Grade 6 Team and placed sixth in the whole of Great Britain on beam.#

A spokesperson said:’It is a fantastic achievement for the club to have so many gymnasts representing them at these finals.

Their coach Emily Bull travelled with the girls which Cathy Osborne was judging.

The girls qualified for the British National finals back in March where they had to rank in the top five at the Scottish Compulsory & National Grade Championships to make the team. Since March, the girls have worked very hard to improve and perfect their routines in preparation for these competitions.

They train five times a week at the Garioch Community Centre (behind the swimming Pool) in Inverurie, which adds up to between 17 and 23 hours a week.

Some of the girls are also in the Scottish Regional Advanced squad which includes monthly squad sessions in Edinburgh in addition to their club training.
