The Mackie Micros P3 team played their first ‘away’ tournament at Aberdeen Grammar Playing Fields on October 6.
A cloudy but mild Sunday morning made for perfect conditions to play rugby.
There were two Mackie teams, the Quarters and the Hoops, taking part in a round robin tournament where there were four 10-minute games for every side against the other clubs, Aberdeen Grammar and Ellon. The Mackie teams competed really well and showed the skills they have learned even this early in the season with some fine running, passing and tag tackling.
All the players and spectators had a great time at the tournament and, with the emphasis on fun and playing the game in the right spirit, with no winners or losers, it led to a memorable day for all. It augurs well for the season ahead.
The Mackie squad were - Grant Lindsay, Landen MacGregor, Gregor Veitch, Andrew Edgar, Angus Foubister, Cameron Henderson, David Allen, Diego Guzman, Joshua Spencer, Matthew Brown, Murray Jamieson, Robbie Stark, Quillan Hepburn, Ruaridh Clarke, Oliver Robinson, Tain Robbie.
