The season is now in full swing and the first local friendly was played last Saturday against Bervie BC.

The result was a good victory for Stonehaven by 79 shots to 46 shots.

G. Buchan 15 W. Abernethy 15

This Sunday May 4 Stonehaven BC will welcome a touring team from Polmont and a few more players are required for the planned 8 rink match.

In the initial round of the A&K league Stonehaven suffered defeat by 3 points to 2 against Kintore.

The strong home team skipped by Jim Roddie had a 5 shot win but the Graeme Penny’s away team

went down by 7 shots mainly due to a 6 shot loss on the 14th end.

The Aberdeen and Kincardineshire County held their trials at Stonehaven on Sunday and Thursday and the local club had four trialists (Graeme Penny, Alister and Mark McIntosh and Steve Gellately) each vying for inclusion in the team which will begin its competitive season on Saturday April 26 at the Rercreation Grounds for the H&R Trophy against teams from Buchan, Bon Accord and Highland County Associations.

The Senior Section also had its first competitive match on Wednesday against Culter BC and came out on top by 14 shots.

Members are once again reminded that the Competitions have been drawn and are on the notice board and that the 2X2 Pairs starts on Tuesday 6th May at 6.30pm.

The Senior Section will be compiling their competition draws early next week.
