Week two of the winter league was played in very similar weather conditions as last week namely very windy and blustery conditions.
Club selection was to prove guess work for many. Mastering it in the scratch doubles were the early morning pairing of Harry Roulston and Neil Irvine who had a two under par 64, this was two shots better than their playing partners on the day Stuart Dempster and Barry McGillivary also posting this score was Brian Lawson and Stewart Allsop.
One shot further behind was last year’s scratch champions Kevin Riddell and Ross McAllan.
None of the groups fighting in the nett competition were able to master the conditions and probably come March when the tallying of scores take place it will be doubtful if any of the weekend scores will be counting. Playing on Sunday when the conditions were probably tougher Barry Reid’s 40 stableford points was the solo score of the weekend beating his nearest rival Alex Geddes by two points.
Members attending the gent’s smoker on November 8 are reminded that ticket money should be paid by Monday the 3rd to secure their ticket, note the clubhouse closes at 5pm during the week.
