St Laurence 4 Parkway Thistle 0
ST LAURENCE maintained their recent form with a win over Parkway in the league.
St Laurence, started the brigher side with chances created through great movement down the right hand side with Jamie Johnson and Neil Arthur combining well.
The breakthrough came when Jamie Johnston hung a ball to the back post, Myles headed the ball back across goal, a defender did well to clear off the line, but Doug Harley was there to follow up and score from close range.
Neil Reid then stuck a free-kick from 25 yards only to see the ball clear the crossbar.
St Laurence made it 2-0 when Myles did good work down the left hand side and cut the ball back through a crowd of players for Paul Durrand to pounce on the back post and score his 6th goal in three games.
Neil Arthur latched onto a through ball from Johnston, and ran in on goal, rounded the keeper and slotted home, to give St Laurence a comfortable lead.
Neil Reid then scored from a free-kick, when he curlled the ball around the wall and beat the keeper at his near post, to give St Laurence a 4-0 lead at half-time.
Daveie Robertson, took great pleasure in pulling on the St Laurence goalkeeper top when their first choice keeper was called offshore and proved his worth with several great saves and also produced a bit of magic when he calmly side stepped two of the opposition strikers, before playing a ball up to Durrand.
Johnston, broke away down the right and beat his man with ease before smashing the ball goalbound, only for the keeper to pull off a great save.
Fenby was denied a penalty in the closing minutes of the game when he burst into the box after beating several players, before being brought down, but the referee waved play on.
St Laurence will take this good result into this weekend’s game against Trophies International, a team in the division above them, in the Dickie Trophy round three.
