Hundreds of people were at Lathallan School on Saturday for the second Rugby Sevens event. Teams competed in three age groups; P7s, Under 16s and Under 18s.
Scottish Rugby Internationals, Stuart Hogg, Rob Harley and Duncan Weir, and Glasgow Warriors Pete Murchie and Calum Forrester attended and presented the prizes. Nigel Don MSP and SRU Board Member Ed Crozier enjoyed the day along with Sir Moir Lockhead, Chairman of Scottish Rugby Union.
P7 Competition Winners: Robert Gordon College; Runners Up: Lathallan School.
Player of the Tournament (P7): Ross Milne (Carnoustie).
U16 Competition Winners: Lathallan School; Runners Up: Strathmore.
Player of the Tournament (U16): Cameron Baxter (Gordonstoun).
U18 Competition Winners: Robert Gordon College; Runners Up: Howe of Fife.
Player of the Tournament (U18): Cameron Hughes (Moray).
Richard Toley, Headmaster, said: “We were delighted with the event and enjoyed welcoming all the teams, families and supporters to the school for the excellent tournaments. We are especially pleased that our own Lathallan U16 squad won their age group, which highlights the strength and depth of rugby here at Lathallan. We look forward to hosting this event again next year. Thanks to all the teams, coaches and supporters”.
