A Doric comedy evening is to be performed at the Dickson Hall in Laurencekirk tonight (Thursday).

Fleeman Productions will be presenting ‘an Evening of Doric comedy,’ written by Charles Barron and based on the works by the Russian, Anton Chekhov.

It features four short comedies directed by three directors, written by two playwrights and performed by one company.

This was the last unperformed show written by Charles Barron, before his death in April 2012.

The plays are directed by Liz Loggie, Brian McDonald and Scott Neish who will also be acting alongside Jill Hay, Julie Hutton, Lara-Jo Taylor, Karen Young, Scott Armstrong, Colin McKay and Scott Jamieson.

Fleeman Productions has been bringing Doric drama to the North-east for the past nine years and will be touring again in early 2014. Charles Barron has provided all but one of the 17 plays the group have staged so far.
