Already a familiar face to many due to her appearances on Mock the Week, Have I Got News For You and Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Jo Caulfield also works hard behind the scenes writing jokes for some of British comedy’s top stars such as Graham Norton and Ruby Wax. Now Jo is back on tour and returning to Banchory’s Woodend Barn for a night of hilarious stand-up on Friday 24th May at 8pm.
Jo is known for her razor sharp wit matched only by her razor sharp tongue. She got her big break after winning an open mic comedy slot after drunkenly entertaining the crowd when only 17 and having just moved to London to sing and play drums in a rockabilly band. Jo claims this was a particularly unusual decision as she can neither sing nor play drums. Nevertheless, Jo hasn’t looked back and her schedule remains packed with TV and radio appearances, tours and writing work.
This will be the final date of her Better The Devil You Know tour and sees her tackle everyday subjects and problems which we all share, turning them into side-splitting anecdotes and helping us laugh at ourselves in the process.
Jo has been nominated for numerous comedy awards and was included in Channel 4’s list of “the 100 Greatest Stand-ups”. Graeme Thomas will be opening the bill for this show, who has been writing and performing stand up on and off for some years now. Getting his first taste of comedy during his university days he has since performed in venues across Scotland and the North of England.
Tickets are £10 or £8 concession in advance and £12 or £10 concession on the door, all plus booking fee.
