Aberdeenshire property prices take a slight dip

There was a drop of 0.8 per cent, according to registers of Scotland figures, but this does not reverse the longer-term trend, which has seen property prices in the area achieve 1.7 per cent annual growth.

The average Aberdeenshire house price in February was £179,069.

Over the month, the picture was better than that across Scotland, where prices decreased 1.7 per cent.

Over the last year, the average sale price in Aberdeenshire rose by £3,000 – putting it 31st among Scotland’s 32 local authorities for annual growth.

The best annual growth was in the Shetland Islands, where prices rose on average by 17.3 per cent. At the other end of the scale, properties in Aberdeen gained just 0.7 per cent in value.
