Stonehaven and District Choral Society will stage their Spring Concert, entitled Shapes of Sea, in St James’ Church today (Sunday).
The Stonehaven Chorus under conductor John Hearne, will present a programme of words and music inspired by the sea. Guests are the poet Kenneth Steven and the Rhona MacKay Trio on flute, harp and cello. Kenneth Steven will read his poem “A Song among the Stones,” with some stanzas set for chorus and instruments by John Hearne.
Also in the programme will be music for the Trio by Edward McGuire.
Included will be settings by John Hearne of folk songs from The Hebrides and Iceland. Tickets are available at £10, £8 concession and £1 students.
