Combining the awarding winning talents of Scottish Opera and Visible Fictions, Philip Pullman’s captivating novella, Clockwork, will be transported onto the stage through a mix of song, music, puppetry and live action all wrapped up in a beautiful set designed by Kenny Miller and musical operetta by David Trouton.

Coming to Banchory’s Woodend Barn on Thursday 26 May at 7.30pm, Clockwork promises to be captivating and sophisticated for all adventurous souls aged 8+ (children and adults alike). This haunting tale interweaves several stories, each brought to life through this multi art form piece.

We begin our melodic tale in a tavern in Glockenheim, where Fritz begins to tell a story to the townsfolk. Gathered around a roaring fire, safe and warm from the winter weather, they listen, entranced. But the more Fritz unravels his tale of kings, queens and mysterious clockwork machines, the more it comes to life. In fact it springs to life in more ways than one...

Watch objects leap into life, creating enchanting worlds where past merges into present, life merges with machine, and fiction becomes real.
