A local artist will open the doors next week in an open day at her Catterline studio to raise funds for a north east charity.
Frances Gilroy will open her studio with a mixture of paintings available to look at buy in aid of CLAN Cancer Support.
The studio is at Birdiesknap, which is set on high ground beside the layby at Roadside of Catterline along the coast road.
The open day will take place next Tuesday September 8 10am-8pm.
Frances, who has lived at Birdiesknap for 18 years, said this week: “The idea came about as part of the probus club. I was going to invite people to see the studio and it rolled on from there as I thought I could do some good and CLAN came into my head. I’ll have cards, refreshments and traybakes on the day.”
The NEOS catalogue for 2015 describes Frances as “a painter for 30 years and well exhibited, she is inspired by the colour, pattern and texture of nature. Using many different mediums she paints an eclectic range of subjects, especially on the ‘quirky’ side. She is delighted to share her studio with Liz Munn.”
Birdiesknap is easy to find and will be also taking part in NEOS which takes place from September 12-21. Frances will have a guest artist in her studio Liz Munn and be open from 10am-5pm daily.
