Macphie of Glenbervie is a winner of a Silver award at the prestigious RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2014.
The food ingredients company will be presented with their award, run by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), during a ceremony at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow on September 17.
Mark Ross, Health and Safety Coordinator at Macphie, was thrilled at the news: “I’m delighted that the hard work by the employees at our Glenbervie site to improve on our already good record for health and safety has been recognised.
“Over the past five years we have provided independent auditors with information on our health and safety statistics and met strict criteria to enter the awards, so being recognised by RoSPA for this effort with our first ever entry is testament to the exceptional endeavour of everyone involved.”
David Rawlins, RoSPA’s awards manager, said: “The RoSPA Awards encourage the raising of occupational health and safety standards across the board. Organisations that gain recognition for their health and safety management systems, such as Macphie of Glenbervie Ltd, contribute to a collective raising of the bar for other organisations to aspire to, and we offer them our congratulations.”
