“Woman of the Way”

Thursday November 26, 7.45pm-9.45pm

Women of the Way is a group open to ladies of the parish. It meets fortnightly to learn more about God and discuss how members can apply their faith in their daily lives and to support one another. As well as studying the Bible, and a time of prayer, the group always have lots of fun at meetings.

They have recently welcomed a number of new members, and are always delighted to have new people along. WOW meet in Arbuthnott at the home of one of the members.

Gourdon Guild will be meeting on Thursday November 19, 2.30pm at Mission Hall Gourdon. Where the ladies will be enjoying a Christmas Gift Sale.

Inverbervie Medical Centre

Patients over age 65 or patients under 65 with Chronic disease are entitled to a Flu Vaccine.

Please contact Inverbervie Medical Centre to make an appointment.

If you do not wish a Vaccine please also contact the Health Centre to let them know.

Fundraiser gets the Big Snip

Last week local Shop lady Sue Brown of Scotmid, Inverbervie Branch treated shoppers to an unusual sight as she had her head shaved in the Aisles for Alzheimer Scotland. Sue’s final total was £1,200.

Childrens Christmas Party

The Crown Hotel, King Street, Inverbervie are hosting a Childrens Christmas party on SundayDecember 6 from 1pm til 4pm. Tickets on sale from the Crown Hotel.

Breast buddies meet on Tuesdays (Term Time) at The Living Rooms, Church Street, 10am-11.30am.

If you are pregnant or Breast Feeding the please join us for a Cuppa, Cake and Chat.

£1 Donations for Refreshments. Breast Feeding Councillors on hand for help and advice.

Bervie Food Bank

Thank you to the generosity of our local community, during the months of July to September we have donated another 115Kg of food. Making this a huge community donation of over 700Kg.

Bervie Youth Project

On Saturday November 14 a good number of kids attended our Sports Session taking part in a Assault Course, Basketball and some football, there was also Chocolate Bingo fun on at The Youth Café where there was silence as Eyes were down for 6 full games of Bingo as well as the normal games and fun.

On Saturday November 21 we are having Netball and Basketball during Sports and a Prize Quiz and Xbox Kinnect.

Bervie Youth Project are seeking December Sponsorship of £250 is needed to cover all Sports and Youth Café Projects, including our Christmas Parties.

International Students in Bervie

Bervie Hosts are required for International Students, Do you have a spare room? We are looking to place International Students with caring, supportive families in Inverbervie and across the Kincardine and Mearns areas giving them a slice of Scottish life and helping with their Language skills.

Students come for short stays of 4-6 nights or longer stays up to 9 months.

‘Meet the Committee’

Bervie is run off the backs of Committees, so we would like to introduce you to our Committee’s and their Members.

Elaine Mitchell, Chairperson of Friends of Bervie School (FoBS), with the run up to their biggest annual fundraiser on Friday November 27, “the Shopping Night” FoBS are as busy as ever.

Elaine is in her 4th year as Chairperson, A Self employed – Bookkeeper at EM Bookkeeping. Married to Craig for 11 years with 2 children, Katie aged 9 and Ross aged 6, both who attend Bervie Primary School.

Elaine Said “ I enjoy spending time with my family, hillwalking, kickboxing and reading.”

Elaine’s favourite thing about The Royal Burgh is The people and her favourite place is her home and walking along the coastal path to Gourdon.

Elaine is an avid Walker taking part in the Kilt walks, competing in 5 during 2013 and a further 2 in 2014.
