Tracey Bell from PAMIS, which is the only charity in Scotland that works with people with profound and multiple learning disabilities, accepted a cheque for £3000 from The Provincial Grand Lodge of Kincardinshire.
The money was raised from a charity ball that raised £6000. This was then split with PAMIS and Adam’s Aims, another charity. The money will be used to support children children in the local area.
One of the families that PAMIS supports are the Hendersons, who live in South Aberdeenshire with their 15 year old disabled son who has a life-shortening condition. They have worked with PAMIS on the Changing Places Campaign and said: “This campaign makes a huge difference to our son’s life. Days can be planned without looking at the clock having to return home to change our son.
“We can go further afield or experience things in our locality which require longer time slots that just a few hours.”
