Citychurch launching in Stonehaven

Citychurch is a lively, mainstream evangelical Christian church based in a historic church building near the Denburn Car Park in Aberdeen City Centre.

Five years ago, there were 150 members, now there are more like 600 people of all ages and backgrounds gathering to worship every week across three Sunday services. Lots of people, many of whom have had little or no connection with any church, have joined and begun a new relationship with God.

Citychurch is a local church, looking to help people with real needs and make a significant difference in the local community. Presently, the three Sunday services are nearing capacity, so in response to this growth, Citychurch South will be launched on January 27 in Stonehaven.

Citychurch senior pastor Chuck Freeland said: “We’re delighted to have the opportunity to extend our service schedule to include a new site South of Aberdeen city. We believe that serving local communities and partnering with other communities across the globe is a natural expression of God’s love and care for the world.

‘‘James Duce will be site pastor of Citychurch South. James has for the last few years been dedicated to setting into motion the Street Pastors charity in Aberdeen and across Scotland. We are pleased to welcome him. “

Mr Duceadded: “Our church vision statement is that we want to be a ‘ growing, worshipping community of Jesus-followers, passionate about being and speaking good news to the world.

‘‘We’d like to invite people to the launch of Citychurch South who are welcome, whether they have faith or not, to come and see. The launch service is on Sunday, January 27, at 0.30am at Stonehaven Community Education Centre, Bath Street, and then every Sunday after that, same time, same place. Come as you are!‘‘
